MA Higher Education, University of Michigan
BA English, China
How did you get here?
I started my career as an admissions consultant, working with college students and working professionals with their applications to Master's/MBA programs of top business schools in the U.S. After 8 years, I switched my career to higher education and found my skill set a good fit with career development. Being a generalist for nearly 2 years, I seized the opportunity to follow my greatest passion and focus on coaching business students.
What is cool about your job?
Definitely connections. I wear multiple hats in a fast-paced, demanding role. I need to customize my efforts to the needs of diverse stakeholders and integrate different resources. My goal is to be a strategic, politically savvy, relationship-building change agent.
What's the best career advice anyone has given you?
Career management is not linear. There's going to be a lot of zigzags and changes getting through. And sometimes getting to one’s goal is not immediate. Be patient.
Outside of work, I can be found bicyling, playing acoustic guitar, or posting travel and food pictures on Instagram.
