Handshake is the premier platform for UC Berkeley students to find jobs and career resources. Students can find opportunities on and off campus, part and full time, and work-study positions. Students can also schedule career counseling appointments, engage with employers, access event information, and much more through Handshake.
Employers can use Handshake to post jobs, info sessions, and attend events. They can receive support from Career Center staff on posting any of these after registering and being approved in the system. Employers can also engage with students through the platform.
Who Has Access?
For students, please refer to our eligibility guidelines for up-to-date information.
For employers looking to register, Handshake offers a thorough article describing how to register and get started. Make sure you select University of California Berkeley as one of your schools. Once you’ve requested to connect with Berkeley it can take up to 3-5 days to approve your account.
When will incoming students get access to Handshake?
If you are a new eligible graduate student, your Handshake account will be created the first week of June.
If you are a new undergraduate student, your Handshake account will be created the first week of July.
IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to create a new account, as this will slow the process down.
