How did you get here?
After moving to the Bay Area I started working for a workforce development nonprofit called Year Up. Over 10 years, I had various instructional and program related roles. I ended my time there as the Associate Director of Internship Services where I oversaw the team providing white glove support to students in the internship phase of the program. At Cal, I’m looking to grow my career development skill set and also bring what I’ve learned about supporting young people from marginalized communities to the Career Center.

What is cool about your job?
I work with Engineering and Physical Sciences students. I look forward to hearing their stories and playing a small role in facilitating the next step in their career journey. My fulfillment comes from knowing that I’m a valuable resource whose single aim is to help others achieve their goals.

What's the best career advice anyone has given you?
“Unless absolutely necessary, never leave a job without another opportunity in your hand” – Gerald Chertavian (Founder and CEO of Year Up).

When I find some time outside of raising a young family with my partner, I like to spend it on sports (real and fantasy), exploring the Bay (especially its sights and breweries), and thinking up home DIY projects (that I’ll never get to).
