How did you get here?
My career path has taken me from corporate accounting in Minneapolis, to teaching business communications and career planning in Tokyo, to providing career counseling at nonprofit organizations in San Francisco, to my job here at Cal. I'm a living example of how a career path can grow and change as you grow and change.

Who do you work with? What's cool about your job?
I work with most students in the College of Letters and Science and specialize in communications careers, which is great because I myself enjoy using words and images to convey information and influence people.  What's cool about my job is the students, of course! It is inspiring and gratifying helping such talented, bright and energetic people, no matter where they are at in developing their careers. I'm also a visual communicator, loving design and layout.  Lucky for me, I get to apply these skills in helping students with their resumes and interviewing skills, as well as by managing the Career Center's website.

What's the best career advice anyone has given you?
Actually, it's a well-known quote that works well for career and everything in life: "Don't believe everything you think."

Cats and more cats. Painting, birds, wildlife and wild places, road trips, politics, Mexico!
