M.S., Counseling, San Francisco State University
B.A., Psychology, UC Irvine
How did you get here?
After graduating with my BA I had short term positions in administration for an HR consulting firm, in sales for a staffing agency, and as training coordinator at a steel manufacturer. Then when I was working toward my Masters in Counseling at SFSU I got an internship at the Career Center as a Career Counseling Intern and I have never left! I started working full time at the Career Center in 1998 as a Career Counselor and transitioned to Employer Relations in 2011.
What's cool about your job?
I love that we're serving students during one of the biggest transitions of a person's life. And it feels very meaningful to have a direct impact on people, by connecting students and employers for career development.
What's the best career advice anyone has given you?
Never stop learning. If you find yourself "coasting" in your career it's time to learn a new skill set, take on a new role, or move into a new job.
