M.A. Higher Education Administration, Boston College
B.A. Sociology, UC Berkeley
How did you get here?
My experience as an undergraduate at Cal inspired me to pursue a career in education, leading me to my first job in educational research/policy right here in Berkeley, followed by graduate school in Boston and then a move to the "Ocean State" (the "other" ocean, the Atlantic!), where I worked as an advisor to pre-health and Honors students at the University of Rhode Island before returning to the west coast. It is my privilege to be working in this capacity to support pre-health students at Cal.
What's cool about your job?
From working one-on-one with students on an individual level to designing programs and conducting outreach to support students on a systems level, I enjoy the variety of ways in which this role allows me to connect with and advocate on behalf of students throughout their career development.
Bonus: Getting to celebrate advisees' good news!!! Seeing Cal Bears go out into the world, pursuing their dreams and making it a better place for everyone.
What's the best career advice anyone has given you?
Be proactive! Trust the process.
