Graphic Designer
Education
B.F.A., Graphic Design, California State University, Sacramento
How did you get here?
I began my academic career in community college at Sierra College in Rocklin, CA where I earned two skills certificates in Visual Arts & Media and Graphic Design as well as my Associate of Arts in Applied Art & Design while completing an unpaid internship as a designer for the nonprofit radio station KVMR in Nevada City, CA. I then transferred to Sacramento State where I applied and was accepted into their Graphic Design Program and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Graphic Design while working as a designer for Associated Students Inc. at Sac State. I am thrilled to now be in a career position as a graphic designer for the number one public university in the world!
Who do you work with? What’s cool about your job?
I have a unique split role as a designer for both Berkeley Career Engagement and Creative Lab in the Student Union. I love the variety of projects I get to work on, the challenge and problem-solving aspect of design, and applying what I have learned in school in my job duties every day. I get to see the direct impact of the work that I do and support students’ growth.
What’s the best career advice anyone has given you?
