Individual, Confidential Counseling |
Meet with a PhD counselor to discuss the expanding range of career options for graduate students, as well as, the academic job search. Appointments are currently conducted remotely. |
Workshops & Presentations |
A broad array of virtual workshops and presentations expressly designed to assist all graduate students and PhDs interested in careers within and outside of academia. Grad students are also eligible to attend Career Center events aimed at the undergraduate population. Career Fairs & Employer Info Sessions |
All career fairs and employer sessions are being held virtually. Hundreds of business, government, and nonprofit employers visit the Berkeley campus each year, and many are interested candidates with advanced degrees. Some Career Fairs and Info Sessions are for graduate students & PhDs only.

Letter Service |
The Career Center has closed its Letter of Recommendation Dossier Service: https://career.berkeley.edu/Letter/ServiceRetire. |
Handshake | Online listings of part-time, full-time and temporary jobs exclusively for Cal undergraduate and graduate students. Upon graduation, PhDs have access to job listings and all other services delivered through Handshake for five years following the award of their terminal degree from Berkeley. |
On-Campus Recruiting | Over 500 employers annually conduct 15,000 interviews for full-time and summer positions through this web-based recruiting system. . |

- Andrew Green is a Berkeley PhD (Political Science `93), and taught for six years at Connecticut College before joining the staff at the Career Center April Fool's Day, 1997.
- Debra Behrens (PhD Education, UC Santa Barbara) taught at CSU before joining the Career Center.
