Hi everyone, I'm Alex! I'm a third year majoring in Psychology and minoring in Ethnic Studies and I'm super excited to be a part of the Career Center team this year! I'm not too sure on what I want to do after college, but I'm currently exploring the fields of counseling /advising, teaching, and research in multicultural clinical psychology. I'm originally from Long Beach in SoCal and went to high school in Torrance #GoKnights. On campus, I'm heavily involved with AFX Dance and love to perform on-stage because I am secretly an undiscovered KPop Star! When I'm not practicing my body rolls in a parking lot, I also do peer counseling with Student-to-Student Peer Counseling every week in 342 Eshleman. And when I'm not doing that, I am eating at Teapress and then suffering/thriving in Moffit Fifth Floor. More fun facts about me - I love Jane the Virgin and Parks and Rec, Rob Lowe and I had a photoshoot in a Sacramento parking lot, I'm Puerto Rican, and I love helping people advance in their careers!! See you at drop-in hours! :)

Hi! I’m Andrew, and I’m a Junior double majoring in Mechanical Engineering and Business Administration. I grew up in Glendale, CA and am half Armenian and half New Zealander. My main campus involvement is through the Momentum Speaker Series, a student speaker series I pitched and now help run, in the College of Engineering. I’m a big advocate for the Career Center and am excited to be a returning Peer Adviser.

Courtney Kirkland
Hi! My name is Courtney and I’m a sophomore studying Sociology! I am from Colfax, a really small town in the foothills near Tahoe. One of the main reasons I chose to come to Cal was to escape the small town life and be immersed in a place as culturally diverse and exciting as Berkeley - I have not been disappointed. I am on the Club Volleyball team, play intramural basketball, am a member of both Cal Dem’s and a women’s empowerment mentoring club called Cal WYSE. I love watching Cal athletics and am an avid NFL (go niners) and Serena Williams fan. I enjoy listening to country music and seeing my favorite artists in concert, spending time with my family, and watching romance movies or Moana. In the future, I hope to have a career that progresses the world in terms of social or environmental issues, have a family and dress my babies in those Cal bear onesies at the student store, and get a hug from Michelle Obama. In more related news, I love talking and listening to other students and their stories and I want to help you in any way that I can! My goal is to help you meet your goals. Go Cal students and go Career Center!

James Serano

Greetings peeps! I’m James, a 2nd year Cal student still deciding on my major - excited to be actively figuring that out with the awesome resources that I have here at the Career Center ;). I’m a Filipino student from Hawthorne, CA, a decently sized city in LA about 10 minutes away from Inglewood and if neither of those cities seem familiar to you then let’s just say SoCal. When I’m not spending my time critiquing resumés and conducting workshops, I really enjoy cutting hair, playing basketball, talking trash to anyone who dares challenge me in a game of NBA 2k18, going on hikes, and having deep philosophical conversations about adulthood and space. I also spend a lot of my time volunteering with clubs on campus like Camp Kesem and Student-to-Student Peer Counseling. If you want to have a good conversation about anything career related (or NBA, anime, J Cole, Kendrick Lamar, or good Mexican food) then make way over to the Career Center!
