Letter Service - How to Reactivate a File
If you are a currently registered Cal student, your student status will automatically be verified every time you login via CalNet. This will extend the expiration date of your file through the end of the current semester and every semester that you are continuously registered. Be sure to update your contact information (email, address, and phone numbers) by selecting Registration on the Main Menu page of your online file.
If you make a request to send letters and are being charged the higher One-Time-Send fees, please try to login to your Letter Service file using your CalNet ID to extend your student status. If it does not extend you and all your registration fees have been paid, contact the Letter Service at Letter@berkeley.edu.
UC Alumni Reactivation
If you are an Alumni with an existing file and wish to reactivate, login to your Letter Service file and follow these steps:
Select Registration from your Main Menu page to update your contact information. This is very important.
Make sure there is enough money in your account to cover the cost of $150 for the Alumni Advantage membership. To add money, select your Payment page to charge the necessary amount using your credit card. Your address on file must match the billing address of your credit card.
After payment, go back to your Main Menu page and select "UC Alumni Reactivation." Then select "Purchase Now" (one time only - double-clicking may result in duplicate charges) to complete the process. Your account will be charged the $150 Alumni Advantage reactivation fee and your expiration date will be set to one year from date of payment. You will also receive a confirmation of reactivation with your Career Center ID number, which you will need for your alumni login. Please write this number down and keep it in a safe place.
You may then proceed to make online requests. You can verify that your expiration date has been updated by viewing the Registration section of your online file.
