Please describe what you do in your current position.

I will be working on the social features on the Fitbit website and mobile platform.

What strategies and resources did you use to find your current position?

I used LinkedIn extensively when I tried to look for career opportunities: Keep the LinkedIn profile updated, get myself familiar with the newest technology stack and be confident.

What was your approach in discussing your student visa status with your employer?

Most employers, including start-ups, would be fine with transferring H-1B visa. Big companies will be easier to talk to regarding petitioning for employment visa. For the software/web industry, it has become a common case to be handled and I didn't really face any difficulty in that.

What are your top tips for international students looking for a full time job?

I think international students are doing better in technology full time jobs since communication is not a big barrier here. But still, in order to secure a full time job, international students should work on communicating the ideas through effectively and in an impressive manner. This is my top tip for job interviews.
