Financing your Experience

Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Student Film Awards
The Academy awards a first ($5,000), second ($3,000), and third ($2,000) place in four categories (alternative, animation, documentary, and narrative) for student filmmakers who are full-time students at an accredited institution. The film must be made in the context of a teacher-student relationship within the curricular structure of the institution.

Artsbridge Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to students willing to create and teach a program in the visual or performing arts (or the use of visual or performing arts for the teaching of some academic discipline) in a Bay Area public K-12 school. Applicants must intend to major or minor in an arts program on campus, and be able to contribute 18 to 22 hours of classroom time over the course of a semester. Offered to UCB students only.

Beinecke Scholarship
The prestigious Beinecke Brothers Memorial Scholarship provides $32,000 to juniors planning to pursue graduate study in the arts, humanities, or social sciences. Recipients will receive $2,000 prior to entering graduate school and $15,000 per year for the first two years of graduate study. Students must apply as juniors.

Institute for Humane Studies Production Internships
Intern at an award-winning film production company. Offers stipend, housing, and travel reimbursement.

Robert and Collen Haas Scholars Program
The Haas Scholars Program funds undergraduate independent research, field-study or creative projects in any major or discipline. Scholars also participate in an interdisciplinary intellectual community that supports their research/creative work. Offered to UCB students only.
