The Peer Advisor Program - 2007-2008

Who are the Peer Advisors?

We are the student ambassadors to the Career Center. We help students achieve peace of mind by demystifying the LSAT, fine-tuning a summer job resume, or reassuring the over-achiever in us all. At the end of the day, a triumph for a fellow student is a success for the Peer Advisor that told him, "Don’t worry, your experience in retail is just what the consulting firm needs."

We are full-time undergraduate students trained by Career Center counselors on proper resume/CV/cover letter writing, interviewing, and the inevitable job/internship search. In addition, we know the ins and outs of the graduate/professional school application process. Equipped to solve academic and professional conundrums, we offer one-of-a-kind advice because as student leaders, we utilize the very services that we promote. Our dynamic team consists of:

How Do I Meet the Peers?

(Available during the academic year only).

• Drop-ins at the Career Center - Peer Advisors do not hold Career Center infolab drop-ins during the summer months. We will resume drop-ins for the Fall 2008 semester beginning the 2nd or 3rd week of classes, TBD. Check back for updates after the Fall 2008 semester begins.
• Pre-Med/Health Peer Advising - New Drop-In Hours:

  Jaya Tue 12:00-3:00 Edith Mon 2:30-4:00 Tue 12:00-1:30 Wed 2:30-4:00 Thu 12:00-1:30 Fri 12:30-3:00

• By Email - Students can also email us to get basic questions answered.
• Request a Workshop - Campus organizations - whether dormitory, service, Greek, academic or professional-based - can request a workshop for an evening program on a career-related topic of your choice.

How to Find the Career Center

The Career Center is located at 2111 Bancroft Way, between Fulton and Shattuck. You can take the Perimeter Campus Shuttle to Bancroft and Shattuck (Kinko's is on the corner), and walk back towards campus one-half block. We'll be in the InfoLab which is on the 2nd Floor.
