Biological and medical scientists, from the Occupational Outlook Handbook - Information from the Bureau of Labor Statistics describing the nature of the occupation, training and other qualifications, as well as advancement, outlook and earnings information. Also includes links to related occupations.

Employment Links for the Biomedical Scientist - This is a metasite with many links to employment and career development information for scientists.

Science's NextWave - American Association for the Advancement of Science provides a rich resource for careers in the life sciences. While the site targets graduate level sciences it offers articles on careers in various fields from bioinformatics to zoos.

Yahoo Science Directory is a metasite which contains links by category including agriculture, biology (includes zoology), forensics, and other life science links.

"Age of Aquarium" San Francisco Chronicle - Article (12/23/01) profiles an aquarist working at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

American Association of Zookeepers, Careers in Zookeeping - Provides and overview of what zookeepers do and the training required. Also lists relevant links to associations, resources and organizations.

American Zoo and Aquarium Association - Basic career information (go to Home > For Everyone > Careers), links to job listings, relevant associations and topics of interests to professionals and the general public.

Aquatic Science Career Information - The American Society of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) gives a definition of aquatic science, oceanography and limnology. Describes what aquatic scientists study, working conditions, earnings information and field outlook.

Career Center, Veterinary Medical School - Provides information on Veterinary Medicine Careers and training.

Careers in Oceanography, Marine Science and Marine Biology - Scripps Institution of Oceanography Library metasite with links to many different resources related to careers in the field.

Preparing for a Wildlife Career - Career information on preparing for careers involving wild animals, or related to wildlife and conservation from the Smithsonian National Zoological Park.

New sites may be submitted for consideration and are typically reviewed on a quarterly basis. Please indicate the page on our site where you think your link would be appropriate.
