Externship Program - Guidelines to Consider

  1. Externships take place during Winter Break in January only.
  2. Length of externships is specified by the sponsor (one day to one week long) and cannot be changed. Students must be able to commit to the length indicated.
  3. You may apply for three externships but will be placed in only one.
  4. Students have complete responsibility for contacting the sponsor and making arrangements for the externship in a timely manner once placements are assigned.
  5. If you are placed in an externship, you are expected to accept and complete the externship. Do not apply for externships in which you do not have genuine interest or which you will not be able to complete.
  6. Students are responsible for all expenses related to the externship, including travel, accommodations (if any), meals, etc.
  7. Students participate in the Externship Program voluntarily and separate from the University. The University is not responsible in the event of injury, accidents, personal loss or other occurrences during the externship. Students are required to attend an orientation meeting prior to the externship and are completely responsible for their own actions.
