How to List a Job/Internship
Many private individuals and households use CalJobs to post tutoring, childcare, manual labor and similar positions.
To get started:
1. Go to https://berkeley-csm.symplicity.com/employers/
2. Select one of the following tabs at the top of the CalJobs login page:
Register for CalJobs (Free) - Complete all required fields to request an account to post future jobs and internships. If your request to create a new account for CalJobs access is approved in 1-2 working days, then you will receive an email with login information and specific job posting instructions.
Register for CalJobs and Post a Job for UC Berkeley Students & Alumni (Free) - Create an account and post your job all in one session. Note, however, that your job will not appear on CalJobs until staff has approved your registration.
Register and Post a NACElink Multi-School Job (Minimal Fee) - Create an account to post a job at UC Berkeley and other NACElink Network schools. For a modest fee ($25/job/school), you can post jobs at additional schools using the NACElink Network software, including other UC campuses and Stanford.
See a list of participating schools.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I fax/mail my job listing or call the Career Center to list my job?
No. The Career Center does not post any paper listings, nor do we accept job listings by phone. All jobs and internships must be posted on CalJobs. Feel free to contact the Employer Relations & Recruiting Office at 510-642-0464 and we will walk you through the process.
2. What if I don’t have a computer. Can I still list a job?
It’s free to list on CalJobs, but you must have access to a computer to register and post a job. You can ask a friend to do it for you, or use a computer at your local library.
3. What’s the difference between the “Register for CalJobs” and “Register for CalJobs and Post a Job” options?
If you wish to create an account but not post your job right away, select the first option. If you wish to register and post your job at the same time, select the 2 nd option. Note, however, that in each case it can take up to 2 working days to approve your registration, and therefore, your job.
4. What is the “minimal fee” charged for multi-school postings?
It’s always free to post at UC Berkeley. If you wish to enter your job one time and pay to have it posted at other schools, the fee is $25/job/school.
See a list of participating schools and discount pricing options.
5. I’m not hiring for a company. What do I enter in the “Industry/Organization Name” Fields?
In the industry field, select “other” and in the “Organization Name” field, enter your full name or your last name and Family or Household, e.g., Smith Family.
6. What do I enter in the “Description” field?
This is not a required field, so you can leave it blank. However, do not enter the job description here. You will have the opportunity to complete the job description at a later time.
7. I don’t want my contact information listed for applicants. Do I have to provide it?
Yes. You must provide your full name, email address, direct phone number, and street address. When you enter the job description, you’ll have the option to hide any contact details, or provide an alternate email for applications, but we require this information for our records. Your registration will not be approved and access to CalJobs will be delayed if you do not follow these instructions.
8. How do I change my username and/or password?
Once your registration has been approved and you have received your login information, you can log in to CalJobs and select the “Account” tab to change your password. You must then use this new password to log in to any NACElink school site. Your username will always by your email address and should not be changed unless you are using a new email address.
9. I’ve forgotten my password. What do I do?
Go to the CalJobs login page and select the “Forgot my password” tab. Enter your email address and a new password will be sent to you. You must then use this new password to log in to any NACElink school site.
10. I tried to register, but received an error message. What do I do?
You have probably neglected to complete a required field, or the email address you entered
may already be linked to an existing account. Go to the top of the page to find the problems with
your submission. Contact the Employer Relations & Recruiting Office at (510) 642-0464
or by email if you need assistance.
