Alumni Services - Frequently Asked Questions
The expertise of our counseling staff and the majority of employers utilizing the Career Center through Career Fairs and/or jobs posted in Handshake’s job listings are oriented towards current students and recent alumni.
If you are a more experienced alum and are interested in help applying to graduate or professional school, we can provide information and resources to help you through the process after you sign up for our Alumni Advantage program.
If you are looking for employment or career transition assistance, however, you may want to check out our list of career services available to the general public.
The career-related services provided by the California Alumni Association are separate from those offered by the Career Center.
CAA membership does not provide access to the Career Center after you have graduated.
If you wish to make use of the services offered by the Career Center as an alum, you will need to sign up for our Alumni Advantage program.
Alternatively, you can consult our list of career services available to the general public.
You retain access to your Letter Service account after you graduate, and can continue to view your letters, have new ones posted, and make requests. However, if you choose not to reactivate your account by purchasing Alumni Advantage, requests will be made at the higher One Time Send Rates.
To login as an alum or withdrawn student, go to the Alumni login page. Use your email address and the password you set up during your Alumni Advantage registration to login to the Letter Service. If you don't have a password yet, please click the "Forgot Your Password?" link to reset your password.
Once you sign up for Alumni Advantage (including Early Bird) you must stop using your CalNet login to access your Letter Service account; failure to do so will change your account expiration date.
If you wish to make use of Career Center services after graduation, you will need to sign up for our Alumni Advantage program.
Membership provides access to all Career Center services including counseling, career fairs, the Letter Service, Handshake, and more.
To be eligible for membership, you must have a UC degree; if you have attended classes, UC Extension, or summer session courses, but have not earned a UC degree, you are not eligible. Non-Berkeley alumni have access to all services except On-Campus Recruiting which is limited to UC Berkeley alumni.
The fee for Alumni Advantage is $150. Membership runs for a period of twelve months from the date of sign-up, and it is non-refundable.
